Agape Girls

In 2010, Agape began working to counsel and disciple girls from the government-run Remand Children’s Home. Since that time, we’ve successfully reintegrated over 80 girls, rescuing them from their endless days of weary captivity, and safely returning them to their home communities.

In 2012, the Lord made it clear that it was time to open the doors of Agape Girls, a brand new arm of Agape’s ministry.

With 12 beds, and a dedicated staff of Godly Kenyan women, Agape Girls is making a tremendous difference in the lives of hurting young ladies.  Girls are RESCUED from the Remand Children’s Home,  by referral from the District Children’s Office, from well-wishers who find them on the streets, as siblings of Agape Boys, or when found as part of our outreach program. Girls come to us often very broken and our staff works hard to comfort them and introduce them to the REDEEMING love of Jesus; the only source of true hope.

Once at Agape Girls, REHABILITATION begins with a three week transition class which guides them through lessons in the gospel, life skills, character traits, counseling, creative arts, and group activities. Following their graduation from transition class, we take girls on an Initial Home Visit where we begin to determine the reason that the girl left home. Counseling with the child and her family occurs until they are both ready for REINTEGRATION. While at Agape, the girls help with household tasks and learn Kenyan handicraft skills that will be assets to them their entire lives. Following reintegration, we continue to follow up to assure the child has been enrolled in school and that family life is stable. Our staff also continues to share the word of God with the family, the lasting effect of which is often an entirely transformed family!

We covet your prayers for the staff and children at Agape Girls. Life traumas are being healed and families are being restored; thanks be to God!
