Why Reunification?

Family reunification gives vulnerable, at-risk children the best opportunity possible to find hope and belonging with their own families. Here’s how:

hope and belonging for VULNERABLE CHILDREN

Over the past eleven years, we’ve responsibly reunited over 4,000 vulnerable street and at-risk children with their families.

Reconciled RELATIONSHIPS with god and family

We empower children and their families with the physical, spiritual, and emotional tools they need to reconnect and restore essential relationships.

Reunited FAMILIES and supportive communities

80% of the children reunified with their families remain with them and are equipped to reshape their lives and futures for the better.

Agape is NOT a children’s home. It is a place of safety and care as we work to reintegrate a child with family.

Blake Gibbs, Director Emeritus

The Agape Model

Our ground-breaking, love-based holistic program reunites a child with their healthiest possible family environment with a plan specifically tailored to their individual needs and their unique family situations. This flexible model is highly adaptive and serves the best interest of each child.

In fact, 80% of the children in the reunification program have been successfully equipped and reintegrated into their families in under four months. Here’s how:

The foundation for all that Agape does. We present the redeeming message and love of Jesus Christ to see lives transformed through God’s truth.

Our Outreach Teams rescue vulnerable, at-risk children from the cruel dangers of life on the street and from government incarceration. As they come to know and experience Christ’s love and forgiveness, they’re able to recover from emotional wounds, and regain precious hope and purpose for living.

We provide a safe place to live, nutritious meals, new clothing, necessary medical care, and a loving environment. With counseling, remedial academic work and spiritual care, former street children are empowered to become healthy adults who can live self-sufficient, Christ-centered lives.

Both Scripture and science agree that children thrive best in family, the building block of strong community. We work to return children to their families and then help equip each family to care for and love their children, with the goal of seeing them transformed by the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

But we’re not done yet.

Together, we can make a difference.

Last year, we successfully reunited over 580 children with their families. But there’s so much more to do! We need your help to reach our 10-year goal of 10,000 families reunited. That’s 1000 children per year!

For as little as $1 a day, you can reunite kids on the street with their families AND help end child separation in Kenya and beyond.
